Electrolysis is the only FDA approved form of permanent hair removal through what is called electrolysis and thermolysis techniques. Using state of the art technology, a minute amount of electricity is gently applied to the base of the hair follicle. This process destroys the hair growth tissue. As a result, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated.
How Does Electrolysis work?
A small probe (the same diameter as your hair) is inserted into the hair follicle which is a natural opening in the skin. After insertion, a small amount of current is applied. That current heats the papilla (which is the capillary that causes hair to grow). The hair is loosened after the current is applied and slides out of the follicle without feeling it. The current diminishes the blood supply to the hair and eventually the blood supply to the hair is completely destroyed. The client should feel neither the insertion nor the removal of the hair.
Initial consultation includes in depth health history form with electrologist, and a 5 minute test area. (If you have had electrolysis before, you may opt out of the consultation).
